Indoor Track and Football

Now that high school football season is winding down and indoor track has started it may be a good idea for football players to join the indoor track team.  If  you are a football player and have no interest in playing on the basketball team or the wrestling team then indoor track is the way to go.  Biggs can participate in the field events and skills and semi-skills can participate in the jumpa and sprints.  Competing in track and field football players can continue to work on explosive events and workouits that will provide them the dynamic strength they need for the football field.  Also, they will be alble to maintain their conditioning and let alone work on their speed.  On a good indoor track program football players will be able to work on drills to help sprint mechanics and running form daily. Participating in sprint events such as the 55 meters will definitely help in improving the 40yd dash time.  Explosive movement events such as long and triple jumps, Shot put and hammer throws, short sprints and endurance sprints are all the ingredients for a football player to get stronger and faster and let's not forget the weight room after every practice.  Several high school football programs in the South encourage football players to joing the track team for all the reasons mentioned in this article.  So if you are a football player and have nothing going on in the winter join the track team and get stronger and faster!

Think fast be fast!
